New Fiat 500L MPW launched in UK

Fiat, the Italian automaker has launched the new Fiat 500L MPW in the UK market. It is the perfect expression of Fiat's know-how in making space-efficient cars with a twist-combining the charm and agility of the Fiat 500 with the comfort and contents of a C-segment car and the space and the versatility of a people carrier.

A five seat 500L MPW is a credible alternative to a traditional C-segment estate, combining exceptional roominess and comfort with an impressive load capacity of 638-litres. As a people carrier it is the most compact 5+2-seater* in its segment, measuring just 4,352mm in length, 1784mm in width and 1,667mm in height, while still offering the same kind of load-carrying versatility of the five-seat version when its rearmost seats are folded flat and stored neatly under the boot the floor.

EXCLUSIVE: Fiat India to introduce seven new models

Fiat India isn’t just setting up new dealerships, but it is also getting ready for several more launches. The company had recently unveiled the Grande Punto Sport, and now we will soon see the Abarth Punto and the Jeep Cherokee and Wrangler by the end of this year. These make it three for this year.

The currently sold Linea will get a facelift in the coming six months. There will be the Linea Classic also available in the market that will be lighter in weight and with lesser features than the existing Linea. The Linea Classic will have the same 1.3-litre multijet diesel engine, but the power could be reduced to 75bhp. This will compete in the C segment. In the second half of 2014, the Linea will be available only with a 1.4-litre T-Jet engine and 1.6-litre multijet. To further diversify its portfolio, Fiat will introduce the Punto Adventure, that will be something similar to the VW Cross Polo. Fiat Linea Classic launching tomorrow

Fiat India is all set to launch the Linea Classic sedan at an event in Delhi tomorrow. It is expected to be a price cut version of the regular Linea model and will be positioned in the lower C-segment. The repositioning will help the Italian automaker to form a place for Linea facelift, which is expected to hit the Indian shores by the end of this year. It is also expected that the vehicle could carry a lower spec engine to keep costs down.

Since the company will launch the vehicle as a lower c-segment sedan, we can expect some features to be removed from the regular Linea. The Fiat Linea Classic might carry the same 1.4-litre petrol mill and 1.3-litre Multijet diesel engine. The exact pricing details of the vehicle is still behind curtains, but we expect it to be priced around 50,000-75,000 lesser than the regular Linea model. With affordable pricing the vehicle will compete against the likes of Swift Dzire, Ford Classic, Honda Amaze, Sail sedan and Toyota Etios.
